Principal Corner
Have you ever fallen short of something you wanted to accomplish? Have you felt like a failure because you did not get a job, got in a fight with your loved one, or the many other aspects in our lives that we seem to fail doing well? This can make you feel worthless, but you should not. Our identity should not be tied to our job, our relationships with others, our popularity or how much money we have. Our identity in found in God, through Jesus Christ. God sent His son into the world to live, teach us through his words and actions on this earth, and to willingly die for our sins on the cross. God has redeemed us from our sins. We are a child of God. That is our identity. A child of God who God continues to love regardless of the failures in our life. When we go to God and ask for forgiveness for our failures, he wipes our sins away, we are made as white as snow. Our sins are removed from us as far as the east is from the west. When we tie our identity to things in this world, those things will fail and we will feel like failures. But when we connect our identity to what God has done for us, we know we are loved and redeemed and will not feel like a failure because God has won the battle.

IN SEARCH OF….
Embroidery. Does someone know of someone or a company that does embroidery or has an embroidery machine? Looking for a special project at the school.
Metal works/welding. Someone willing to make a metal cardinal for a project we are working on. Large, for a sign. Dimensions need to be figured out yet.
Woodworking. Looking to get a long wooden banquette for outdoor use made. Must be weather proof and hopefully durable. Possibly with storage, but it’s ok if it’s just seating. For another project we are working on.
Donations to make any of these projects are also always welcome! Reach out to Jacqie if you are willing and able to provide any of these skills or you know of someone that would be.
CHAPEL OFFERING: October
During the month of October, we will be raising funds for the Shoeboxes we send off in November from Samaritan’s purse.: Operation Christmas Child.
Click on the image below to learn more.
We will provide families with a shoebox to pack and you can pick it up at conferences. Start shopping and collecting items to fill your shoebox. Shoeboxes will be available to pick up from school in a few weeks and we will also have a deadline of when they will need to be dropped back off to the school and the students will gather for a send off! Check out the packing suggestions by clicking the red button below. Please be mindful of not overfilling the box. If it needs a rubber band, it is too full.
Please also pay attention to the list of things you should NOT include in the shoebox - reading instructions is important. Many have ignored this list in the past and everything gets thrown in the trash if it is not allowed to be in the shoebox.
Hobby Lobby does a great job of having marked shelves designated for shoebox purchases as well as shoeboxes to use (if we run out, which would be a blessing!) If you decide to get your own shoebox, it must be the size of their shoeboxes or an average shoebox, not oversized. They give these gifts out to many children across the globe and want them to be EQUAL in size and fullness. Think about when your child sees someone else with a bigger present than what they are given, how do they feel? So please follow their guidelines.
You can also send a virtual box (just a monetary donation) from the website and also purchase items and someone at Samaritan’s Purse builds a physical box for you! You just pay to have it filled! Lots of options to give back this upcoming holiday season.
DO NOT INCLUDE: Soap; candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; scary or war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans; alcohol wipes.

NEED PARENT SERVICE HOURS?
Trinity Lutheran School would not run or function without our families and all your hard work! We strive on showing our students a great work ethic and a drive to help and volunteer! Because of this, we ask that each family completes 10 hours of volunteer hours throughout the school year (if you only have a child in the Preschool, we only ask you complete 5 hours). Many events put on by PTL, Athletics and just helping around at the school provide plenty of opportunity to help out! Please don’t hesitate to check out the volunteer page on the website: https://seal-leopard-8yt2.squarespace.com/volunteer
