Principal Corner
I was watching a tv show where an emergency vehicle was trying to drive through some strong winds and it was having trouble staying on the road as the winds were tossing it about. I remember personally driving a college van full of my teammates back to campus at the end of our spring baseball trip. There were strong west winds blowing across the road. We had to keep our steering wheel turned into the wind which kept us on a straight path. But when we came to overpasses, the wind was blocked and we had to turn the wheel back to straight till we exited to the other side of the overpass and the wind hit us again. Sometimes in life I feel like the emergency vehicle being thrown around everywhere and sometimes like the van with constant pressure pushing against me. When those times occur in your life it is great to have people around you that help support you and that you can talk to about what is going on in your life. But more importantly you need that relationship with God. You need to be rooted in Christ. You need to know that no matter what you go through on this earth, God loves you and you are his child. God loves us so much he was willing to send His Son into the world to live and eventually die for all of our sins. Build your life on the Rock. Be Rooted in Christ and you will weather the storms of this world.
Parent -Teacher Conferences
The End of the 1st Quarter will be here before we know it! We have Parent-Teacher conferences at that time, and you’ll be given your child’s first report card for the year. We do an optional parent-teacher conference in February as well for a mid-year check in but this first set is a MUST! It’s a great time to see how the year is starting and your child is adjusting.
Basketball Season
Thank you to everyone who applied for coaching positions! Someone will be reaching out to you to confirm your position soon. We will have a schedule put together as soon as possible. In the mean time, start turning in the permission slips and athlete promise when you have them finished. They must be turned in before the start of the first practice, which is still TBD.
UPCOMING EVENTS!!! See Calendar below! You can also check out the Google Calendar under Parents > School Calendar to subscribe.
WEEKLY RECAP
There is ART & ARCHAEOLOGY happening throughout the school!
5th Grade Science “dug” through brownies to find what was hidden in them and learn about the process of archeological digs.
Pssst: it was chocolate chips.
There’s some awesome art popping up around the school. From the styles of Paul Klee, Piet Mondrian, Matisse, pixel art & Kindergarten pumpkins, we have lots of art to look at.
A wonderful lady ( eh hem - Mrs. H) decorated our cross last Friday after we all left, and I don’t think we could’ve imagined anything more beautiful.
A HUGE THANKS to all that have helped with our library digitization catalogue so far! This is a project we started in Summer of 2025 and was the goal to get our TLS library scanned in so the students could check out books and search the library database to see if we have a book they are interested in. We have made enough progress, that the 3rd-8th are now able to search for a book in the library and also check out their own books using their Chromebook! We still have about ½ the library to get scanned - so if you can work with a computer (simple tasks, I promise) and want do help us out, please contact Jacqie. We would love to get the library finished this school year. This would count towards service hours for parents and family!
4th Grade was so excited that they could start using the digital library system today they made cookies for Jacqie as a thanks for working so hard on it!

CHAPEL OFFERING: October & most of November
During the month of October, we will be raising funds for the Shoeboxes we send off in November from Samaritan’s purse.: Operation Christmas Child.
Click on the image below to learn more.
We will provide families with a shoebox to pack and you can pick it up at conferences. Start shopping and collecting items to fill your shoebox. Shoeboxes will be available to pick up from school in a few weeks and we will also have a deadline of when they will need to be dropped back off to the school and the students will gather for a send off! Check out the packing suggestions by clicking the red button below. Please be mindful of not overfilling the box. If it needs a rubber band, it is too full.
Please also pay attention to the list of things you should NOT include in the shoebox - reading instructions is important. Many have ignored this list in the past and everything gets thrown in the trash if it is not allowed to be in the shoebox.
Hobby Lobby does a great job of having marked shelves designated for shoebox purchases as well as shoeboxes to use (if we run out, which would be a blessing!) If you decide to get your own shoebox, it must be the size of their shoeboxes or an average shoebox, not oversized. They give these gifts out to many children across the globe and want them to be EQUAL in size and fullness. Think about when your child sees someone else with a bigger present than what they are given, how do they feel? So please follow their guidelines.
You can also send a virtual box (just a monetary donation) from the website and also purchase items and someone at Samaritan’s Purse builds a physical box for you! You just pay to have it filled! Lots of options to give back this upcoming holiday season.
DO NOT INCLUDE: Soap; candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; scary or war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans; alcohol wipes.

NEED PARENT SERVICE HOURS?
Trinity Lutheran School would not run or function without our families and all your hard work! We strive on showing our students a great work ethic and a drive to help and volunteer! Because of this, we ask that each family completes 10 hours of volunteer hours throughout the school year (if you only have a child in the Preschool, we only ask you complete 5 hours). Many events put on by PTL, Athletics and just helping around at the school provide plenty of opportunity to help out! Please don’t hesitate to check out the volunteer page on the website: https://seal-leopard-8yt2.squarespace.com/volunteer
