“Look at Me”
Young children love to have parents and adults watch them do things. Look at me jump, look at me ride my bike, look at me bounce on the trampoline, look at how fast I run. These are all commonly heard from young children that want their parent or other adult to see them do things. This is acceptable for children, but not so much for adults. Yet, many adults will say look at me by dressing in the latest and most expensive clothes, driving the fanciest cars, or by flaunting how much money they have. Yet, as adults we know we are to look to God. We are made in God’s image and to become who God planned us to be, we need to not have others look to us, but we need to look to God. In that way others can see the good works we are doing and give God the honor and glory. When we are doing the adult version of look at me, we are not pointing others to God, we are just pointing to ourselves. Without God, we would be nothing. Be someone who helps others find their way to God, not their way to you.

CHAPEL OFFERING: October
During the month of October, we will be raising funds for the Shoeboxes we send off in November from Samaritan’s purse.: Operation Christmas Child.
Click on the image below to learn more.
We will provide families with a shoebox to pack. Start shopping and collecting items to fill your shoebox. Shoeboxes will be available to pick up from school in a few weeks and we will also have a deadline of when they will need to be dropped back off to the school and the students will gather for a send off! Check out the packing suggestions by clicking the red button below. Please be mindful of not overfilling the box. If it needs a rubber band, it is too full.
Please also pay attention to the list of things you should NOT include in the shoebox - reading instructions is important. Many have ignored this list in the past and everything gets thrown in the trash if it is not allowed to be in the shoebox.
Hobby Lobby does a great job of having marked shelves designated for shoebox purchases as well as shoeboxes to use (if we run out, which would be a blessing!) If you decide to get your own shoebox, it must be the size of their shoeboxes or an average shoebox, not oversized. They give these gifts out to many children across the globe and want them to be EQUAL in size and fullness. Think about when your child sees someone else with a bigger present than what they are given, how do they feel? So please follow their guidelines.
You can also send a virtual box (just a monetary donation) from the website and also purchase items and someone at Samaritan’s Purse builds a physical box for you! You just pay to have it filled! Lots of options to give back this upcoming holiday season.
DO NOT INCLUDE: Soap; candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; scary or war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans; alcohol wipes.
Papers or payments to drop off?
There is a locked box outside the office and a tray for paperwork. (signs indicating their use have been up since Orientation night!) Please leave papers face down and put any payments into the black box. With Mr. Stockman teaching full time, there is no one in the office until Jacqie arrives for the day, so please leave these items in either of these two places so they can easily be found and taken care of. Thank you.

NEED PARENT SERVICE HOURS?
Trinity Lutheran School would not run or function without our families and all your hard work! We strive on showing our students a great work ethic and a drive to help and volunteer! Because of this, we ask that each family completes 10 hours of volunteer hours throughout the school year (if you only have a child in the Preschool, we only ask you complete 5 hours). Many events put on by PTL, Athletics and just helping around at the school provide plenty of opportunity to help out! Please don’t hesitate to check out the volunteer page on the website: https://seal-leopard-8yt2.squarespace.com/volunteer
