Principal Corner
Last week I told you about the large tree that I witness just fall over one Sunday morning. Its roots were not deep. I have also witnessed trees that split and fell over because of a rotten section in the middle. I went back to Benson Minnesota for my 45th class reunion a couple weeks ago. I was with my best friend from 4th – 12th grade and another friend of ours. We stopped at my best friends house where he grew up and looked around the outside. Being at his house I remembered when the Boy Scouts were gathering in his yard and how boys that age tend to act, they were messing around a little bit having some harmless fun. One of the boys turned to run and backed right over a skinny 7 ft tall tree that had been planted a while back. The tree bent and then snapped in half. Usually, a tree that young would bend and bounce back. We suspected that the tree was dead before he broke it. It was early spring and leaves had not started appearing yet so I am not really sure. It also looked like the tree was not taking root and able to supply what the tree needed to survive. Many people, may be like that tree. If they do not have their roots firmly planted in Christ, they may be spiritually dead. They may look fine on the outside, they may be a nice person, but only God knows if they are rooted in Him. At TLS we want our students to be rooted in Christ. We teach bible stories, pray together, attend weekly chapel and talk about God in so many ways with our students. We want them to be rooted in Christ, no only to be able to withstand the storms of this life, but to one day be gathered together in Heaven.

TLS COLOR FUN RUN
RED, WHITE & ROOTED IN CHRIST
Our 18th ANNUAL FUN RUN will take place on Friday, September 25th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This is the only FUN-draiser in which we ask students to participate. Unlike most fundraisers which require students to sell items, the students are asked to obtain pledges per lap, or donations, from family and friends, and then run laps around the playground. It’s a fantastic fun day. The money raised helps pay for many items needed for our students and keep our school running every year!
We want 100% student participation and have a goal of $20,000. Students can obtain prizes by reaching different levels of donations. We also ask each student to raise a minimum of $50. If we can accomplish that, then maybe something special will happen!
Ways to sign up and volunteer will be available soon as well as ways to donate! We will have a FUN RUN kick off for all the students during school on Thursday, Sept. 3rd. They will bring home information on how to collect donations and what students can earn from reaching certain tiers of collection!

NEED PARENT SERVICE HOURS?
Trinity Lutheran School would not run or function without our families and all your hard work! We strive on showing our students a great work ethic and a drive to help and volunteer! Because of this, we ask that each family completes 10 hours of volunteer hours throughout the school year (if you only have a child in the Preschool, we only ask you complete 5 hours). Many events put on by PTL, Athletics and just helping around at the school provide plenty of opportunity to help out! Please don’t hesitate to check out the volunteer page on the website: https://seal-leopard-8yt2.squarespace.com/volunteer
