Principal Corner
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year. Rooted in Christ is the theme for this year. When I think of roots, I think of the phrase when people decide to settle somewhere and say they are going to put their roots down. I also think about the parable of the Sower and the seeds landing on different soil, but only the seed in good soil was able to produce fruit. Being rooted in Christ helps us to withstand the winds and troubles of this world. While living in North Carolina we experienced being rooted. We drove to church and parked in the diagonal parking that was all the way around the block where our church was located. It was a bright sunny day with very little wind. We parked and exited our vehicle, and another car had pulled into a spot down the block from us. The next thing we know we hear this sound and a large oak tree is falling onto the other car that had just pulled into their parking spot. Everyone was ok, they were able to get out of their car. Several cars had damage to them from the tree. When looking at the root system of this large oak tree, it was a big ball, but the roots did not reach deep down into the soil. We had had enough rain to soak the soil and make it unstable around the base of the tree. That with the added weight of the water on the leaves caused the tree to fall on a clear blue day without much wind. When we do not have our lives rooted into Christ, we can be like that tree that just falls over. This year I pray that all of students, their families, our staff and all others are have their faith strengthened and have deep roots in their relationship with God.

CHAPEL OFFERING: September
During the month of September, we will be raising funds and collecting items for the Crisis Nursery - Mankato Area. We will be focusing on items for out in the cold! The Crisis Nursery could really use mittens or gloves from toddler size all the way to adult. All money collected in September will also be donated to get them $15 Gas cards for families they serve.
ALL ABOUT DOORS - CODES - SCHOOL TIMES
School Starts at 8:20 am for Preschool-8th Grade. After 8:20 must be signed in at the office for K-8.
GYM Door Opens DAILY @ 7 AM for Early Care for K-8. Anyone dropped off before 7:45 am will be charged $4 and billed every two weeks.
Main Door Opens DAILY @ 8:10 am relocks at 8:25am.
All K-8 students must be taken to the gym doors before 8:10 am. Why is this?
Teachers are preparing for the day, likely also not in their rooms. We have a designated adult to supervise the students in the gymnasium only. Not everywhere else in the school.
PRESCHOOL ONLY - Use your code to enter the MAIN door between 7 am & 8:10 am. Preschool also has access to pick up their child in the afternoon and after 3:15 pm using their code.
END OF DAY: Main Door & Gym Door unlock at 3:05 pm when school is completed. Both relock at 3:15 pm. All students, who are not in SAC (School Age Care -before and after care for K-8 students), Preschool or sports, must be out of the building by 3:15 pm unless arrangements have been made. Students are never to be unsupervised in the school. Students will be taken to SAC if after 3:15 pm and there is no other plan.
SIGN IN PLEASE
When dropping off, for ALL Parents, please sign your child in using the app on your phone or if a kiosk is available. If you have more children, older than Preschool, you can sign them all in at the same time! Follow the prompts on the screen. Same with Pick up. If you are picking up your child, signing them out is requested.
Why?
For our childcare license, it is required to have a way to prove that the parent (or approved pick up person) picked the child up - via signature, which you are prompted to do on the kiosk or the app - or designated pin. Same goes for safety reasons for all other students - we have a guarantee we know the child is with their parent, and not only safety but ease of mind.
If you are not picking your child up and someone else on your list is, please let us know ahead of time. Each time someone on your list is picking up and it is not a parent or guardian, the school should be notified. We will also issue them a code for their pickup day. If it will be a regular plan for someone else to pick your child(ren) up, please let us know so we can make sure their code works for a longer period of time. If you did not get a code and your child is not a regular, please contact the office for a code BEFORE your child will be attending SAC.
COMING SOON: SAC will use the SIDE door, the old “SAC Door” - currently there is a key pad there but the door is waiting on a part for it to fully function. We should have it ready sometime this fall. We actually have someone scheduled, just waiting on parts.
DOOR CODES:
Door codes will only be active, during the time of the program you were given one. For example, those with students in SAC, their code will only work, when SAC is in session. Will not work before 3:15 pm or after 5:30 pm. Will not work on the weekends. It will not work when school is closed. It will not work in the summer. ONLY when SAC is in session. Do not share your code. If you have someone else that needs a code, please contact the office. Do not give your child the code. The students then think they can use their code during school. And one thing about this system, is it has a safeguard against someone trying to break in. When codes are repeatedly entered wrong, or tried to be used during times they are not designated for, it locks the system down and no one can enter.
Some Parents have noticed a PIN in Procare. That is NOT your door code. That is another way to sign your child in and out. Most people don’t typically use it. Your door code was given to you at registration. If you need help remembering your door code, contact Jacqie.
A NO FUSS FUNDRAISER? YES PLEASE
TLS COLOR FUN RUN
RED, WHITE & ROOTED IN CHRIST
Our 18th ANNUAL FUN RUN will take place on Friday, September 25th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This is the only FUN-draiser in which we ask students to participate. Unlike most fundraisers which require students to sell items, the students are asked to obtain pledges per lap, or donations, from family and friends, and then run laps around the playground. It’s a fantastic fun day. The money raised helps pay for many items needed for our students and keep our school running every year!
We want 100% student participation and have a goal of $20,000. Students can obtain prizes by reaching different levels of donations. We also ask each student to raise a minimum of $50. If we can accomplish that, then maybe something special will happen!
Ways to sign up and volunteer will be available soon as well as ways to donate! We will have a FUN RUN kick off for all the students during school on Thursday, Sept. 3rd. They will bring home information on how to collect donations and what students can earn from reaching certain tiers of collection!
Want to read up on our Policies?

Please email the office at tlsinfo@trinityjanesville.com if you’d like a paper copy to be sent home. NEED PARENT SERVICE HOURS?
Trinity Lutheran School would not run or function without our families and all your hard work! We strive on showing our students a great work ethic and a drive to help and volunteer! Because of this, we ask that each family completes 10 hours of volunteer hours throughout the school year (if you only have a child in the Preschool, we only ask you complete 5 hours). Many events put on by PTL, Athletics and just helping around at the school provide plenty of opportunity to help out! Please don’t hesitate to check out the volunteer page on the website: https://seal-leopard-8yt2.squarespace.com/volunteer
