Principal Corner
Today is Ash Wednesday and many times in Lent people give up something for the duration of the Lenten season. This can be a house cleaning of things that distract us from God. It can also serve as a reminder for the time Jesus spent in the wilderness preparing for his ministry. If we give up something in our lives, it should allow us time for prayer and studying God’s word during the Lenten season. Looking for ideas on what to give up, you could take a look in the Bible. The first part of Ephesians 5 speaks to things we need to eliminate from our lives. There are many improper words said in society today. As a child I rarely heard those words, but today some people seem to use these words in almost every other word when they are talking. This Lent could be a time to get back to our bibles, get back to speaking to each other as God intends and making a change in our lives. God’s blessings as you begin your Lenten journey.
3rd Quarter Midterm Conferences
Forms were sent home for every student so that as a parent, you could request a conference if you’d like one. Sort of a mid year time to check in if needed. This form will also notify you if the teacher is requesting a conference. Please make sure all forms are signed and sent back, regardless if a conference is requested at all by either teacher or parent.
CHAPEL OFFERING: FEBRUARY
February’s chapel funds will go to support the Orphan Grain Train. To donate to the cause directly, you can click on the image below.
In the past, we have always done Hearts for Jesus in February, this year, Hearts for Jesus doesn’t have a specific organization listed and suggests that schools do one of their choosing. In honor of Pastor Pasche’s (St. Peter’s Bell) father who recently passed, and had a passion for helping with the Orphan Grain Train in the past.
A flier will be sent home next week with students with this information + more!
ANNUAL SILENT AUCTION - MARCH 1st - LOOKING FOR DONATIONS
We challenge each family, to ask their employers or coworkers for a donation for the Silent Auction. Many companies have funds set aside for charitable donation! OR maybe your coworkers want to go in on an item?
If you have an even bigger item or donation, or your company would like to be a sponsor of Tribute to Trinity (see below), talk to Jacqie.
For each donation a family brings in, they will earn 1 hour of your required service hours (or more)!
Hello TLS! I wanted to officially invite you and your school to participate in the 2nd Annual MoonDogs Reading Program. The incentive-based program challenges students to read outside of the classroom and rewards them for their commitment to reading. The MoonDogs Annual Reading Program is open to ALL students in kindergarten through 6th grade and will start Monday, February 9, 2026 and run through Monday, May 4, 2026. Thanks again for being a part of this community initiative, and I look forward to working with you and your school this spring!
Gunner Stier Ticket Sales Coordinator, Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club
This incentive-based program is super easy! Each week you track the minutes your child reads and turn in the slip to the school office! Each sheet turned in, the student reaches a base and earns a prize! The program started last week, so we get a free week and don’t need to write down the hours, but can continue all the way until May! (Past the AR competition) . Kids can pick up a form from their teacher and when they turn in the first form to the office, they automatically will get the 2nd form. Prizes will get distributed at school as they continue through the program. See a copy of the first sheet below. Because we got started late -you can cross out week one on your first form. Or if you know your minutes spent reading you can fill it in. But you get a free week because we joined the program late!
Per Base MoonDogs Prizes
1st Base Prize- AWESOME MoonDogs folder that students can use for class the rest of the spring.
2nd Base Prize- 2 FREE Habaneros tickets to be used at any 2026 regular season game.
3rd Base Prize- MoonDogs logo baseball.
Home Run- 2 FREE MoonDogs tickets to be used at one of the games provided.
*Earn FREE MoonDogs Tickets for you and your family After the 12 weeks of the program are completed, each student who met their reading goals and turned in their calendars for each of the four bases will earn two FREE tickets to a Mankato MoonDogs home game. The MoonDogs organization will deliver the ticket order forms to your school after we receive the final number from your school.
DOOR CODES
IF you are not picking your child up and someone else on your list is, please let us know ahead of time so we can get them a door code. If you did not get a code and your child is not a regular, please contact the office for a code BEFORE your child will be attending SAC.
Preschool Parents, PLEASE USE YOUR code before school (before 8:10 am) and after school (after 3:15 pm). The teachers should not and cannot leave the students they are in charge of to open the door.
SAC Parents, your door code is only useable during PM SAC hours. If you are coming to the school for any other reason at any other time, you will need to ring the doorbell. This is for your child’s safety.
COMING SOON: SAC will use the SIDE door, the old “SAC Door” - currently there is a key pad there but the door is waiting on a part for it to fully function. Please use the front door or gym door still until further notice. When that door is finished, you’ll have access to the SAC door and the Gym door only instead.
POLICY PIT STOP
A feature highlighting a policy straight from the Parent-Student Handbook
leaving this one in here for two weeks since it tends to be one that is consistently on topic
VI. BUILDING SECURITY AND STUDENT SAFETY PLAN
A building security and student safety plan has been developed with the students in mind. The faculty wants parents to know and feel assured that their child is safe at school. For this reason, we ask all students, parents, and visitors to follow the procedures of this plan.
ARRIVAL OF K - 8 STUDENTS
Before 8:10 am
Students should not arrive at school before 8:10 unless they are riding the bus. Students arriving early are to enter only through the gym doors and are to remain in the gym under the supervision of a teacher or aide until dismissed to the classrooms. Trinity offers before school care. Paid care is available from 7:00 am – 7:45 am. Care from 7:45 – 8:10 am, when students are dismissed to their classrooms, is free.
Between 8:10 and 8:20 am
Students must enter the west door (Main Street). After taking care of their personal belongings, students will go to their classroom.
After 8:20 a.m.
Students arriving after 8:20 are considered tardy. Students arriving after 8:20 are to check in at the school office. Students who are late because of a late bus are not marked as tardy.
DOCTOR/DENTIST APPOINTMENTS
If a child needs to leave during the school day for a scheduled appointment, an email or Procare message should be sent to the teacher and office at least a day in advance. Parents are requested to come to the school office to pick up their child. If the appointment is in town and the student is walking to the appointment, please request this ahead of time. If a student returns to school following the appointment, the parent is to come to the office and sign in the student at the school office before the student returns to the classroom. (See also “Medical Absences” under the Attendance Policy section.)
DISMISSAL FROM SCHOOL
If a student is not traveling home by the typical means of transportation, a parent should inform the teacher and office of the travel arrangements. If someone other than a parent is picking up the child, that person's name should be given to the teacher and office. Students should be off school property within 15 minutes after being dismissed unless staying for an after-school activity or enrolled in SAC/WAC. All students still at school after 3:15 pm will be transferred to SAC/WAC if no notification was given by a parent/guardian.
VISITATION BY PARENTS & OTHER GUESTS
All parents are invited and encouraged to visit school with approval by school administration. If a parent or other friends or relatives wish to visit a classroom, a parent must make arrangements in advance with the school office. The amount of time in the classroom should be limited due to the distractions that a visit can cause. When parents or other family members arrive at school, they must enter through the West door (Main St), check in the school office and check out when leaving. If parents plan to eat school lunch, the school should be contacted one day in advance so that the cook can plan accordingly. All visitors’ lunch must be paid prior to eating.

MAJOR REMINDERS & Key Points
Please try to use Procare to send a message regarding students being absent. Remember when sending a message, to make sure it is clear when the student will be absent by using dates and times. Right now, we are waiting on some repairs of some of our technology so you cannot be let in unless someone is in the office. So in order to let you in properly, we need to know the date and time. This also helps reduce confusion as well. Your time is precious so we are trying to be as efficient as possible.
Our doors open at 8:10 am - 8:20 am. All K-8 students here before 8:10 am must enter via the gym door. Only if you need to speak to the office should you be ringing the doorbell and coming in the front before 8:10 am. The gym door is open, from 7:00 am - 8:20 am. You may have to tug a little harder but it should be open.
At the end of the day, doors open at 3:05 pm. We encourage you to wait outside for your child to ease congestion in our hallways.
If you come in the building during school hours, you must stop in at the office. This is a requirement, not a suggestion.
If children are being picked up during the day they MUST be signed out in the office. Please do not go searching the school for your child(ren).
Even if family members are “approved” for pick up, we still need to be notified when someone other than their parent/guardian is picking them up. Having them approved just means we have all the information we need from them ahead of time.
SAC and PK families: DO NOT share your door codes and please DO NOT use someone else’s door code. I will deactivate your code if I see they are being abused.
Even if you have a door code, it is only usable during those program hours i.e. SAC is from 3:15 pm - 5:30 pm.
We encourage you to share photos so others can enjoy them as well, during events and field trips! Plus, we can always use more for our yearbook. Add your photos to either place by clicking the corresponding button below.

NEED PARENT SERVICE HOURS?
Trinity Lutheran School would not run or function without our families and all your hard work! We strive on showing our students a great work ethic and a drive to help and volunteer! Because of this, we ask that each family completes 10 hours of volunteer hours throughout the school year (if you only have a child in the Preschool, we only ask you complete 5 hours). Many events put on by PTL, Athletics and just helping around at the school provide plenty of opportunity to help out! Please don’t hesitate to check out the volunteer page on the website: https://seal-leopard-8yt2.squarespace.com/volunteer
