Principal Corner
The Israelites as they left Egypt were quite the group. Through Moses, God leads them out of captivity and begins the journey to the promised land. You would think this would be a wonderous and joyful journey. But as soon as they get a ways away and Egypt comes after them, they cry out and say we were better off if we had stayed in Egypt. This happens over and over again on their journey. They witness the Red Sea parting while they cross and then close on the Egyptians as they try and follow. They see manna on the ground every morning. They see quail come into their camp by the thousands. They see water come from a rock. They witness God on Mount Sinai. They see all of these miraculous events, but time and time again when anything goes wrong, they lament for their lives they left. Are you like the Israelites? Well maybe you would say if I had been there, I would not have acted like that. But we see miracles in our lives every day. From the miracle of birth, to crops growing from a seed to an abundant harvest. Things that happen in our lives to bring us together only through the love and grace of God. And yet we still find things to complain about. We say the world is not fair. God never said it would be. We complain because others have more. And yet we have enough to survive and even flourish. We are so blessed by God, and yet we will find things to complain about to others and even to God. May we find the joy of Jesus in our hearts and learn to be content with the blessings God has given us.
MAJOR REMINDERS & Key Points
Please try to use Procare to send a message regarding students being absent. Remember when sending a message, to make sure it is clear when the student will be absent by using dates and times. Right now, we are waiting on some repairs of some of our technology so you cannot be let in unless someone is in the office. So in order to let you in properly, we need to know the date and time. Helps reduce confusion as well. Your time is precious so we are trying to be as efficient as possible.
Athletic Calendar which can be found HERE.
Our doors open at 8:10 am - 8:20 am. All K-8 students here before 8:10 am must enter via the gym door. The gym door is open, from 7:00 am - 8:20 am. You may have to tug a little harder but it should be open. Some quality control checking will be happening tomorrow.
At the end of the day, doors open at 3:05 pm. We encourage you to wait outside for your child to ease congestion in our hallways.
If you come in the building during school hours, you must sign in at the office. This is a requirement, not a suggestion.
If children are being picked up during the day they MUST be signed out in the office. Do not go searching the school for your child(ren).
Even if family members are “approved” for pick up, we still need to be notified when someone other than their parent/guardian is picking them up. Having them approved just means we have all the information we need from them ahead of time.
DO NOT share your door codes and please DO NOT use someone else’s door code. I will deactivate your code if I see they are being abused.
NO SCHOOL NEXT WEEK - OCTOBER 16th & 17th
You can lookup your student’s ID number by logging into JMC. It can be found when you look at their lunch account balance and is noted near their name.
PTL President Position to be Open
After many years, Tina Schoenfeld has decided this will be her last school year as the president of the TLS PTL. They are actively looking for her replacement and wanted to give plenty of time for those interested to come to many meetings, experience first hand what happens “behind the scenes” of the events that get put on by the PTL, and shadow to help them decide. The President position does get voted on by other members of the PTL - that is all parents - at the meeting. So attend those meetings!
TEACHER FEATURE
SAC/WAC Program
CONSTRUCTION SITE
If you’ve picked up your kid while they are still playing outside (which when the weather is nice, we try to make that most of the time they are in our SAC/WAC programs) you may have noticed the construction site at the back of the playground! They have been playing/working hard on it.
We have two amazing programs at our school SAC (School Age Care) and WAC (Wrap Around Care - for Preschoolers). With these two programs, many families are able to keep their kid in one place during the school year and not have school and daycare. We are blessed to have these programs. If you are ever needing to use these programs, please contact the school office ahead of time whenever possible. We would be happy to keep your child in a safe, nurturing place until you are able to pick them up after school OR drop them off early before school.
For hours and costs, you can contact the office or visit the website - linked by clicking on the photo!
We encourage you to share photos so others can enjoy them as well, during events and field trips! Plus, we can always use more for our yearbook. Add your photos to either place by clicking the corresponding button below.

Caring & Sharing Holiday Giving
'Tis the Season to begin thinking about the holidays. As the year continues to rapidly progress we want to take a moment to slow down and give thought to our students, families, and community members who may find benefit in enrolling in the Caring and Sharing Holiday Giving Program. JWP and TLS are enthusiastic to offer the Caring and Sharing Christmas Gift Giving Program in collaboration with JWP's National Honor Society, and community donors. We would like to extend a special thanks to our community for their support and partnership in making the holidays a magical and joyful experience for those in need.
TLS, JWP, and our community would like to provide gifts for currently enrolled students in the Trinity Lutheran School system whose families may experience increased financial stress this holiday season.
Student and Family information is kept confidential and your enrollment in this program will remain discrete and only provided to individuals directly overseeing the program.
Click on the photo to be taken to a form to fill out to request to be added to the Caring & Sharing Program.
Pre-Orders for meals can be done at the church welcome center or the school office. Online requests can also be made. Click on the flier to reserve meals online.

NEED PARENT SERVICE HOURS?
Trinity Lutheran School would not run or function without our families and all your hard work! We strive on showing our students a great work ethic and a drive to help and volunteer! Because of this, we ask that each family completes 10 hours of volunteer hours throughout the school year (if you only have a child in the Preschool, we only ask you complete 5 hours). Many events put on by PTL, Athletics and just helping around at the school provide plenty of opportunity to help out! Please don’t hesitate to check out the volunteer page on the website: https://seal-leopard-8yt2.squarespace.com/volunteer

DOOR CODES
IF you are not picking your child up and someone else on your list is, please let us know ahead of time so we can get them a door code. If you did not get a code and your child is not a regular, please contact the office for a code BEFORE your child will be attending SAC.
Preschool Parents, PLEASE USE YOUR code before school (before 8:10 am) and after school (after 3:15 pm). The teachers should not and cannot leave the students they are in charge of to open the door.
SAC Parents, your door code is only useable during PM SAC hours. If you are coming to the school for any other reason at any other time, you will need to ring the doorbell. This is for your child’s safety.
COMING SOON: SAC will use the SIDE door, the old “SAC Door” - currently there is a key pad there but the door is waiting on a part for it to fully function. Please use the front door or gym door still until further notice. When that door is finished, you’ll have access to the SAC door and the Gym door only instead.
