Principal Corner

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year. We had a great start to our year with opening chapel this morning. Students are excited to see their friends and they are also excited to be back in school. Teachers are looking forward to teaching their students but most importantly teaching and sharing God’s word with their students, with families, with each other. We are blessed to be starting our 136th year of teaching children about Jesus at Trinity Lutheran School. Things have sure changed through those 135 years. From what students bring with them to school, to the books used, the classes taught, how instruction occurs, the use of technology and so many different things which have changed over the years. But the one thing that has not changed in 135 years is God. God is still the same yesterday, today and in the future. That is why we exist, to teach children about God. When students are at Trinity, they will pray every day. They will hear God’s word, they will be taught about how God wants us to live and they will hear about the wonderful Grace God give us. Keep praying for our school that we may share God’s word to all who walk in our doors. God’s blessing on your school year ahead. May we all grow in our love and knowledge of God.

17th Annual Fun Run Fundraiser

Sept 19th, 1 pm - 3 pm

This Friday’s Kickoff, all students will be given an informational letter and sponsor sheet.   Be sure to gather your pledges from friends and family!

Students may obtain pledges per lap or donations.  On the day of the Fun Run, they will run laps around the playground while listening to music and dashing with a fun smile and celebrate our 135 years of TLS and 145 years of Trinity Lutheran Church. Because it is a milestone year, we figured we’d make the shirts commemorative as well and if you donate $50, you can get a shirt. Just need to let me know the size (on top of your child’s $50 for their shirt) Deadline for shirts is next Friday - Sept 5th. See below for more information about the rest of the anniversary celebrations happening that weekend.

Our goal this year is to have 100% student participation and to raise $20,000. Monies raised help pay for many items needed for our students.

  • PTL will provide a free water bottle to each student and will sell treats and Gatorade at a concessions stand.

  • Volunteers will be needed. Check out the SignUp Genius that was sent out to sign up where you can help:  Fun Run

  • We hope you can join us for this fun event!

Be Ready for Some Fun at the FUN RUN!!!

LOOKING FORWARD

7th & 8th Go to Camp Omega Sept 10th-12th - Turn in Permission forms and Waivers by Friday, August29th.

5th Grade will go to Farm Home & Safety Day on Sept 9th. Watch for permission slips next week.

NWEA Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) Testing will take place on and off from September 15-26 for grades K-8.  Please be sure your children have healthy breakfasts and adequate sleep. A pep talk about not rushing and reading through the questions carefully would also be appreciated!

MAP Testing presents students with engaging, age-appropriate content. As a student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down in difficulty.  As students answer a question correctly, they get a question of higher difficulty.  If the students do not correctly answer the question, the next question will be a little lower in difficulty.  Through this process, we will get a better idea of what the student knows.  This results in a rewarding experience for the student, and a wealth of detailed information for teachers, parents, and administrators.
